Does Chroma Counselling offer direct billing for counselling in Vancouver?
Yes. Chroma Counselling currently offers direct billing for eligible clients with Pacific Blue Cross, Medavie Blue Cross, Manulife, Sun Life, Chambers of Commerce, Canada Life, and FNHA. Coverage and claim approval depend on your individual plan.
Will my insurance cover counselling with an RCC?
Coverage depends on your extended health plan. Contact your insurer to confirm that your plan covers sessions with a Registered Clinical Counsellor and ask about your coverage limits and eligibility requirements.
What if my insurance provider isn’t on the direct billing list?
You can pay for your session and submit your receipt to your insurance provider to request reimbursement. Most insurance provides reimbursement within a few days. Reimbursement depends on your plan.
Does direct billing mean counselling is free?
No. Your plan may cover some or all of an eligible session, subject to its terms and limits. You’re responsible for any amount your plan doesn’t cover.
How do FNHA clients confirm eligibility?
Contact Chroma Counselling before booking to verify eligibility. Chroma can also help eligible clients register for benefits if they have a status card. Contact Chroma Counselling
Do I need a doctor’s referral to book counselling?
No, you do not need a doctor's referral for counselling.
How do I provide my insurance information for direct billing?
Once you have completed booking your counselling appointment, you will be provided with our intake form. Please complete the intake form which includes providing your insurance information.
Why do I have to provide my credit card for direct billing?
We are pleased to offer direct billing to eligible insurance providers as a courtesy to our clients. While we make every effort to process claims successfully, direct billing cannot be guaranteed. If a claim is declined or cannot be processed for any reason, the client is responsible for paying the session fee and submitting the receipt directly to their insurance provider for reimbursement. A valid credit card must be kept on file for all clients requesting direct billing. If a claim is unsuccessful, the outstanding balance will be charged to the card on file.
How can I change my insurance information?
If you need to update your insurance information, please contact us or speak with your therapist.
