As a Korean speaking intern counsellor, I am passionate about supporting individuals through meaningful self-exploration, healing, and personal growth. My counselling philosophy is grounded in compassion, curiosity, and respect for each person’s lived experience. I aim to create a therapeutic space where individuals feel heard, safe, and genuinely supported.
I work with individuals facing challenges such as emotional regulation, life transitions, and identity-related concerns. My approach integrates cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), humanistic therapy, and dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT), allowing me to tailor sessions to meet the unique needs and goals of each client.
I believe that change happens when people are met with empathy and empowered to understand themselves more fully. Whether someone is building resilience, navigating uncertainty, or simply seeking clarity, I strive to walk alongside them with warmth and professional care.
Depending on your concerns, goals, and needs, I utilize a variety of clinical approaches and techniques to assist you. Including but not limited to:
The focus of person-centred therapy is always on you and not on any diagnosis or categorization. As a Clinical Counsellor, I provide a climate conducive to personal growth and change. Through empathy and trust, our relationship will be productive, genuine, and non-judgemental. Together, we explore your thoughts and feelings, positive or negative, without the risk of rejection or judgement.
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) focuses on the way you think (cognitive) and act (behavioural). CBT helps you to identify the relationship between your thoughts and your feelings. By making small changes to the way you think, you can ultimately change the way you feel.
Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) helps people to improve and regulate their emotions, create more tolerance of distress and teach the person to be more mindful and present while improving communication and the ability to interact with others.
Humanistic therapy is a type of talk therapy that focuses on the individual's unique potential and capacity for growth, emphasizing self-awareness, self-acceptance, and personal responsibility. It centers on the belief that people are inherently good and strive towards self-actualization, the process of becoming the best version of themselves. This approach views clients holistically, acknowledging their subjective experiences and encouraging them to explore their own inner resources for healing and fulfillment.
