About Michael Pandher

Athina, healing in Colour Vancouver and BIPOC counselling Vancouver

I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor in Vancouver, BC, with over a decade of experience specializing in youth, adolescent, and teen mental health. I have worked extensively in community-based agencies and school districts throughout the lower mainland, offering mental health support to youth, families, and individuals.

In addition to my practical experience, my education includes two bachelor’s degrees (B.A. and B.Ed.) from Simon Fraser University, as well as a master’s degree (M.Ed.) in counselling from City University of Seattle. My training encompasses client-centered, trauma-informed practices, with a focus on CBT, DBT, mindfulness-based therapy, and solution-focused therapy.

My education and counselling background equips me to empower individuals, mend relationships, and effectively address life's challenges. I utilize my training in client-centered, strength-based methodologies in discovering your individual strengths to bolster your resilience and self-confidence. I'm enthusiastic about contributing to your well-being and witnessing your personal growth and transformation.

Non-judgemental. Empathy. Trust.

The focus of person-centred therapy is always on you and not on any diagnosis or categorization. As a Clinical Counsellor, I provide a climate conducive to personal growth and change. Through empathy and trust, our relationship will be productive, genuine, and non-judgemental. Together, we explore your thoughts and feelings, positive or negative, without the risk of rejection or judgement.

It’s all in your head

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) focuses on the way you think (cognitive) and act (behavioural). CBT helps you to identify the relationship between your thoughts and your feelings. By making small changes to the way you think, you can ultimately change the way you feel.

Building on your strengths

A key component to solution focused therapy is helping you identify your strengths, resources and problem-solving skills. Together we can discover solutions that build on what you are already good at. We will utilize your existing strengths and skills as a basis for problem-solving and growth.
